To be an artist and painter in particular is a privilege of the few.
To admire art though, is everybody’s need and right.
Rentis Retzas is one of the artist who has his philosophy. Rentis was born in 1971 and his love and talent for painting became obvious at early age. He graduated from the School of Arts and received his first excellent reviews in 1994 in a school exhibition in Florence, as well as in exhibitions he organized in Vouliagmeni, Voula and Kifisia.
He has been painting and exhibiting his works in various Galleries in Greece and Cyprus, serving what he believes, that by painting we become better and get closer to perfection. Being in love with painting and conscious that art belongs to everyone he continuously offers to it.
Life is like traveling by train, where the scenes alternatively change at great speed and only in an artist’s mind can be stored whereas for other people are just passing by. These scenes are used as an inspiration and creation source, that is exactly what Rentis does, and he does it so well that is impossible for the train travelers not to find something that has emotionally touched then from the images that have been impressed in their minds. His themes are figures of unknown women, the sea, and all these are transferred on canvas in a unique, unusual and unconventional way. In his journey on the life’s train, the artist feels that he has the obligation to portray transcendently the colours that beautify our lives.
Armed with the power of his paintbrush and his talent, he is a painter whose works are marked by a mixture of elements far from conventional.
