Painter. Honoured artist of the Russian Federation, honoured artist of Mari El Republic.
He was born on January 6, 1939 in stanitsa Butirskay of Krasnodar region. In 1971 he graduated from Krasnodar college of Art. He has been a member of Artists Union of Russia since 1986.
Boris Tarelkin doesn’t content himself with one genre; he fruitfully works at portraits, landscapes, still life, genre painting and battle-painting. He evolved his spirit not only reading books and visiting museums but also meeting interesting people, whose portraits he paints in the open air. Nature as well as people involves the painter by its beauty and perfection of forms, endless diversity of colours. The painter’s interest spreads to the world of daily things made by people for every day needs.
A number of still life pictures created in different years allow following not only the width of environmental comprehension but development of mastery. Laconic still lives with pieces of art are filled with action and multicolour in the course of time.
Work at the military theme demanded attentive research of military attributes. His pictures reveal cruel atmosphere of bloody war, striking the mind and feelings of Russia.

In his seventies Boris Tarelkin is at the top of his creative path and prepare to the anniversary an exhibition of his drawing. A drawing represents a new unknown part of the painter’s diverse talent.
